5 Things I’m Looking Forward to After Quarantine Ends

States are beginning to reopen non-essential businesses including restaurants, barbershops and salons. It’s finally feeling like spring here, and I can’t help but be a little sad about the situation we’re all in. Our stay at home order was extended here in Northern Virginia until the end of the month (at least). I’m not quite ready to jump back out there yet anyway and probably won’t be for a while. Still, this weekend was a rough one for me. I really miss going out with the kids and I’m really missing my friends. Today, I’m thinking about all of the things I’m looking forward to doing when this is all over. Here’s a few from my list!

Road Trips to the Beach

This is one of my favorite things to do, even if it’s just a day trip. I usually pick a little beach town on the East Coast and ride up there with the kids or friends. The beach is always a peaceful, relaxing getaway for me. It’s also an inexpensive day trip for me and the girls. Margaritas by the water are always a huge plus! I’m really hoping to make it to Rehoboth Beach this summer. I’ve always heard great things about it and I cannot believe I still haven’t gone!

Rooftop Bar + Drinks

I love a place with good music and outdoor seating. Whenever I plan to hang out on the weekends (the good old days), I would always look for cool spot with a rooftop bar and outdoor seating. After the year we’ve had so far, if there’s an option to be outdoors, I’m taking it!

Yes, I am single. I took a break from dating for about a year, but I’m really looking forward to getting back into it. Not just online dating, but meeting someone while I’m out with the girls, during a lunch outing or just out at the grocery store (does that actually happen?).

Getting my hair & nails done

I cannot wait to have someone else deal with this hair of mine and finally have a decent mani + pedi. Going to the salon is usually my time to think, read or just do nothing. I also really just miss the feeling of walking out of the salon feeling photo-shoot ready!

While I’ve been caring for my hair myself, I did buy a new flat iron. For a while I struggled to find the right flat iron for my thick, curly hair. I had a great one for years, but it broke. By that time the brand name had completely faded so I didn’t know where I bought it from. Anyway, I decided to try the Ceramic Straight Iron from Hair Art and it’s definitely the best one I’ve had so far!

I miss going to the mall and actually trying things on. I even miss going to the mall just to window shop! I know so many people shop online these days, but I think I’ll always choose brick and mortar when I can, especially for clothes. I’m so over waiting for my items to arrive, only for it not to fit!

What are you looking forward to when all this is over? Are you getting back out there as soon as business is open again or are you going to wait for a while? Personally, I’m in no rush! But for me, just thinking about it feels good, and it makes me appreciate being able to do these things even more. I hope you all are staying safe and sane during this time!
