Hi, I’m Chloe Nicole Harrigan

Hi, my name is Chloe Nicole “Nick” Harrigan. I’m 30 year old. I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, where I still reside with my two daughters, Areli and Skylar and our Yorkshire Terrier and Lhasa Apso mix, Rosie.

I started writing when I was 14. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression at 13. Poetry and putting my thoughts and feelings on paper was how I coped.

I became a mom at 17 and had my youngest daughter at 19. For years, I struggled in just about every aspect of my life. At 23, I left a physically and emotionally abusive relationship after 7 years. For about 5 years after becoming a single parent, there were more bad days than good. I was in debt, struggling to make ends meet, unhealthy and depressed all the time

In 2016, I made a decision to focus on changing the things about my life that were in my control and stop waiting for my circumstances to change to be happy. When that happened, things finally began to change.

I focused on learning how to take care of myself, physically and mentally, being the best parent I can be. I started writing again.

I started this blog to use my experiences to help others live the best life possible.

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.
